Getting error while starting the Design Studio.

Hi,

I have installed Design Studio 1.4 SP01. While trying to open the Design Studio it gives an error in a pop up window.

The java version on my machine is java 1.7 update 9.

I have also attached the screen shot of the error for reference.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

Mentioned few line from the error:

Java was started but returned exit code=1

-XX: +HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError

Hello Tammy,

I am installing Design Studio 1.4 first time and we are on Net weaver 7.4 SP07 with BPC 10.0.

So now my question is what is the best Design Studio version which works smoothly with BPC 10.0 so that we can create sample dashboards on model with data write back functionality. bit confused as in one of your blog you mentioned that it DS 1.3 works with unified models only.

Your suggestion and inputs will really helps me.

Design Studio is supporting SAP BW Integrated Planning and the BPC unified model.

Specifies the planning model (Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) environment and model) of SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver, Unified. This makes it possible to create integrated planning solutions in a BW system, thereby providing high flexibility and usability for specialist users. Using this property causes the design studio's planning functionality on the server to behave differently. For more information, see SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver on the SAP Help Portal.

it is supported also in 1.4 release.
