Extraction of data from SAP ECC to Datastage using Standard Content

Hi Experts,

One of the requirements for an upcoming implementation is to connect SAP ECC directly with IBM Datastage and pull in data from all the modules of SAP like MM, SD, Inventory, HR etc.

We can pull in data from SAP ECC using ABAP stage, BAPI and Idocs into datastage.

But my question here is, is there anyway we can use the standard BW datasource provided in ECC, i.e maybe use the same idocs that carry the data to BW, to carry them into datastage.

I am not sure how to find these Idocs, for example lets say, 2lis_02_itm will have an idoc generated in the backend in ECC, if that same idoc is pushed to datastage, all the functionality of the datasource (DELTA Capabilities) would automatically be carried forward.

Is this viable?? What are your thoughts, any guidance on this?
