SMP Server automatic startup

Former Member

Dear All,

Today I have faced a strange situation with SMP Servers.

I have SMP Servers installed in 4 environments.

Due to some database maintenance activity, i made all my servers stop few hours back. and when i login to servers to start them, I am surprised to see all of them are already started.

No body else can login to those machines except me.

Is there a feature to enable/disable automatic start of server?

Please respond .

Thanks

Dear Ady,

It looks, the SMP Server's service is with auto start mode(SAP Mobile Platform Server with Statup Type : Automatic), you can control this service based on your requirement(Like Manuall Start Type, Delayed Start.. etc).

Go to windows Services (Services.msc) search for the SAP Mobile Platform Server and change the Startup Type.(For linux server use linux command 'chkconfig' )

Hope this will help!

Thanks.

Dear Tirupati,

Thanks for your response.

You are right. Severs are in auto start mode. But per my knowledge SMP will auto start when the server machine is restarted.

In my case, the server machine did not get restarted.

Any clue?

Thanks
