Hi experts,

May i know why the SAP Fiori Apps and SAPUI5 are surrounded by a dotted-line box? And the second question is why there is a small square box contained SAP Fiori Apps and SAPUI5 in the SAP NetWeaver Gateway? Anyone can explain it?

Thanks.

Regards,

Loh.

Hi Loh,

If you see the architecture above, SAP Fiori apps and SAP UI5 is inside the SAP Netweaver Gateway. The architecture is talking about Central hub deployment, where you have a separate gateway instance and a separate business suite.

Fiori apps aka UI5 components are always deployed on gateway system (frontend system)

Fiori will generally have a backend component and a frontend. Frontend/Ui5 will be installed in gateway, whereas backend component will be installed in business suite.

And the dotted line is your presentation layer(Browser), where the apps are hosted. Those can be your Fiori apps or UI5 apps. SAP UI5 is the required technology for building fiori or fiori-like applications.
