SAP Plain J2SE Adapter Engine on Windows 8.1 64 BIT

Hi all,

I try to install the SAP Plain J2SE Adapter Engine on Windows 8.1. We use  Java runtime from j2sdk1.4.2_19 (32bit). Afterwards we tried to run the service (install_service.bat) without success.

In the os log we found a permanently alerts:

java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/sap/aii/messaging/adapter/AdapterImpl (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)

Please can somebody help me to resolve this issue.

Is there any special reason that you want to use Java 1.4 32 bit version?

You should use 64 bit version instead.

My J2SE adapter engine runs on Windows 8.1 with Java 8 or Java 7 without issues.
