Can anyone qualify if there are performance penalties that will encountered by using the monitoring tools in BI4.0 SP6 please?
I'm looking at posibilities at using the monitoring tools in the future but concerned about any impact they will have on system performance.
Many Thanks
Hi,
it'll only consume as much memory as you allocate to the APS which contains the Monitoring service.
Yes, there is a little more I/O to the disk (i.e. to the Audit schema), because there is a probe running for each platform service
but it'll be almost nothing compared to the influence Platform Search (Indexing) or Auditing (Scope of Events) have on the platform.

H

It will be difficult to calculate impact. Documentation are not very deep in this subject.
But my experience is BO can handle a lot of metrics monitoring without affecting the production. For us, the most challenge about BO monitoring tools is the way to use it thru universe. You will to built new derived tables and link them to get the most of it.
