TREX installation on existing ABAP instance

I am trying to install TREX instance on existing SAP ABAP host. But i get error that SID already exists. My question is:

1. How can i select existing SID with different instance number?

Hello Vik,

Short answer is you can't for what you are trying to achieve.

Each product install has to have it's own SID and instance number if they are on the same box.

eg:

ABAP = PRD

TREX = PRX

You could install your TREX on another box with the same SID as the ABAP if you really wanted to but it makes absolutely no sense and would just be confusing for all concerned.

Imagine someone saying "we have a problem with system PRD". Is that ABAP PRD or TREX PRD ? You see what I mean ?
