Hi,

We have just installed SAP Solution Manager 7.1 using SWPM 1.0 SP08. The installation
scenario is Distributed, HA. ASCS, SCS, ERS ( Abap ), ERS ( Java ) and DB
instance are installed at server: sapprddb ( sapprddb1, -2 ), AIX 6.1. Central
Instance ( PI ) is installed at server:smprdapp1, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
11.

The installation completes successfully for all instances.

http://smprdapp1:50000 and Gui Logon works fine.

All instances except for Central Instance ( PI ) stops and start successfully.

Central Instance ( PI ) cannot be restarted. When starting the instance ( startsap ) startsap.trc shows: “DB_LOCAL=0  DB_RUNNING=0  hasABAP=1  hasJava=0  hasSpecial=0  TASK=ALL  Database db must be started first  Log on to remote server and start database Exit
code 6”.

“R3trans –d” at database server sapprddb1 completes successfully: “ This is R3trans version
6.24 (release 721 - 01.04.15 - 20:15:04).unicode enabled version R3trans
finished (0000). sapprddb1:psmadm 2>

“R3trans –d” at Central Instance/Application server seems as from trans.log and output to
complete successfully “R3trans finished (0000)” BUT in output output “R3trans
finished (0000)”  follows by “Caught
signal 11 SIGSEGV (SEGV_MAPERR) Address not mapped to object” ref paste in
below,

“R3trans -d

This is R3trans version 6.24 (release 721 - 14.10.14 - 20:14:08).

Hi Manu

Thanks a lot for your help on this issue.

Issue solved by updating DB2 CLI driver,

DB2_LUW_101_FP2_RDBMS_CLI_JDBC_Driver ( media 51045665.ZIP )

1363169 - DB6: Installing fix packs for DB2 V9.7 (UNIX + Linux)

1365982 - DB6: Current "db6_update_db/db6_update_client" script (V49)

Thanks

Hi Hanne ,

When you click reply , you have an option "Advanced Filter" , use this to attach files

Believe this is not an issue  as ERS , ASCS AND SCS doesnt need to connect to the DB .When you start up the applications startup using the command startup <hostname>

If you are concerned with this error

The driver being used for DB2 connection seems to be by default pointing to the Linux  .

Have you installed a db2 thin client for AIX [ This wont by default be installed as your CI runs under linux and the  ASCS , ERS , SCS all doesnt need to connect to the DB .]

Once you have installed the  db2 client ( AIX ) believe the issue should be fixed ( /sapmnt/<SID>/global/db6/AIX_64  should be the path for your driver )

There wouldn't have been an issue if you had an additional application server installed on the database server

Thanks

Manu

Hi Manu

THANKS again for help on this issue.

db6_clidriver seems installed for both AIX and - Linux, /Psap/sapmntPSM/PSM/global/db6/AIX_64 ( and LINUXPPC_64 ) .

Please ref screen copiesform /..db6/.. in document "Screen copies from smprdapp1 and sapprddb1 20150527.docx" in link below ( Dropbox ),

  https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19928858/Screen%20copies%20from%20smprdapp1%20and%20sapprddb1%20...

The document too includes screen copies from kernel dirs, symbolic links, ./R3trans -d, ./disp+work from smprdapp1, - sapprddb1.

( - when reinstalling the CI instance it completes sucessfully, and both Abap and - Java stack can be accessed. BUT if stop/start CI instance it fails during start due to R3trans check. ./R3trans check shows "R3trans finished (0000), but followed by the issue lines concerning LINUXPPC64_64//db6_clidriver/.. . Startup does not reach sapcpe replication )

Hi Hanne ,

Are you sharing the same /sapmnt/<sid > between   servers (  DB and ASCS ) ?

[ Ie are u sharing the  same kernels between systems running on different  OS ]

Thanks ,
