Hi Support, In our SAP environment , the SAP Application and Database system are in 2 different system with the Operating system being Oracle Solaris 10. In the SAP application server we have the following user id : Prdadm Oraprd daaadm In the database server we have the following user id : prdadm oraprd sapadm We are planning to put password expiry policy for the above users .Will the SAP System be affected if the password expires for the above user ids From the Java AS point of view will the tools like configtool, jspm and visual administrator fail to work if the password for adm is expired. Regards Tony

Hi Tony,

Each one of these accounts support different functionalities on a given SAP system.

Surely you will face issues to use tools such as configtool, JSPM and Visual Admin in case your SIDadm account gets locked the same way you won't be able to manage your DB appropriately in case your oraSID account ID gets locked as well.

You can have a password expiry policy in place but I'd recommend you to set up an alert or have someone monitor these users so you can always make sure they'll be on a valid, consistent state.

Regards,

Ricardo
