SAP recommended file size

Hi ,

I have a scenario where I need to process 80 MB file (Flat file) to RFC/BAPI at SAP side.

I know that the maximum recommended size according to SAP is 5MB. I need some reference document from SAP, where it is mentioned that recommended file size is 5 MB.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sainath Chutke

Refer to page no 3 (Best Message Size / Message Size Impact on Performance) in the below document

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2016a0b1-1780-2b10-97bd-be3ac6221...

It is recommended for best performance but it should be able to handle 80mb(Obviously you might expect the same performance compare to 5MB)

Hi Sainath,

Follow Sap recommendations and split your file:

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2016a0b1-1780-2b10-97bd-be3ac6221...

you can read below link to know how:

Hi Sainath,

This document http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2016a0b1-1780-2b10-97bd-be3ac6221... page 3, recommends from 1 to 5 Mb of message size, not file size. If you are working with files without ESR PI can support bigger files without problem. I have worked with scenarios with PI  like file mover, and with sizes between 1 to 50MB the scenario worked fine. All depends about your PI memory, CPU, instances and so on.
