Problem with item category PSHP (table T184)

Hi gurus.

I've a mission that is create a substitute product but I've never made it before.

So I did my homework. I did a research at google, found the steps to create, followed them but at the end, my result was this message: "No item category available (Table T184 KA01 NORM PSHP)".

As far as I'm concerned, the problem is something with this standard SAP item category PSHP.

I've created the register for this item category in T184 but VA01 continues to say that it isn't there.

I read some posts from people facing similar problems but none of them helped with my case. In all of them the answer was the same: create the register in table T184.

Below my test scenario:

Item 1400-100 must by substituted by item 1120000039

1- Tcode VB11:

material entered: 1400-100  / material: 112000039 / reason: 0006

2- Tcode VOV4 (table T184):

Doc Type: KA01 / Item Cat. Group: NORM / Default Item Category: PSHP

And after that, still facing the same message: "No item category available (Table T184 KA01 NORM PSHP)".

What I am missing?

Can you check if the field Usage needs to be used for free goods determination?

In that case, you will have to create a new entry for item category determination with the usage field.
