Hi Experts,

We have to upgrade our ISA B2B Webshop from 5.0 to 7.01 or 7.02

Can someone please share what will be the difference between 7.01 and 7.02 and to which version we should upgrade it to?

Other details:

Current NW AS JAVA  : 7.00 SP24

Backend:

ECC 6.0 EHP6 , NW ABAP 7.0 EHP3

Thanks

Harshmeet

Hi Harshmeet,

If you are asking in the terms of ISA then there is no major difference.

Thanks,

Thanks for the response Hamendra. Yes I was asking about ISA.

And what if we upgrade the NW AS JAVA from 7.0 to 7.3

What will be the advantages/benefits for that and the changes that will be required from the ISA end.

What version of ISA we should move to in this case and will ISA 7.01 or 7.02 compatible with NW AS JAVA 7.3?

Hi Harshmeet,

If you have not developed anything new (specially not used EJB) other then ISA then I don't think it will make any difference but you have to consider the below.

Some of the differences are removal of some tools like VA, SDM, JSPM,..etc.

NetWeaver 7.0 supports J2EE 1.3 while NetWeaver 7.3 supports J2EE 1.4 and Java EE 5.

You need to ammend/change the new features / standards provided in J2EE 1.4 or Java EE 5.

Thanks,

Hi Hamendra,

So what do you suggest, should we move our ISA B2B application from 5.0 to 7.3 directly and upgrade NW AS JAVA to 7.3 or we first move B2B application from 5.0 to 7.01 or 7.02 and then move the NW AS Java from 7.0 to 7.3 and also upgrade B2B from 7.01 or 7.02 to 7.3?

What is the recommended approach that we should follow and what will be advantage/disadvantage and complexity of going through a particular path.?

Thanks again.

Hi Hamendra,

Thanks for the help. We will be moving the ECO from 5.0 to 7.02 keeping NW AS Java same.
