Hi Portal Experts,

Please share the details of SAP Enterprise Portal integration with external third party Instant Messaging. If you have come across such requirement any time.

I tried to explore on this and found that such integration is possible. Third party instant messaging tools like XMPP, Jive & Jabber.

Hi Varun.

Aside from the portal Real-Time Collaboration chat feature I believe it should be possible to utilise 3rd party tools also. The following documentation may be of some assistance here -

Varun, do yourself a favour and dont use the SAP RTC stuff for EP, it never reached a stand for productive use imho. If the 3rd party solution you are talking about is offering a web applet UI, your chances are not standing bad to get it running in EP. This is pure J2EE development / know-how, there no extra tips you can get on this topic
