Hi Ram,

Generally Payroll Areas we can define based on Period parameter(Monthly, Weekly & Bi Weekly) and Date Modifier(Exact payment date).

We can use ESG in PCR also If you will use in PCR's also system will take care while running Payroll.

Whenever you want you can generate Payroll process based on backend Schema system will generate Payroll and gives you the results accordingly.

Hi,

Both of them are correct.

I would like to add something on ESG for PCR:

ESG for PCR is used to segregate employee population into specific grouping which will be used to in PCR to have specific calculations as per their 'ESG for PCR' grouping. For example, ESG for PCR under no.2 may have specific calculations/wage type manipulations. Similarly 3 may have different treatment in PCR. There may not be any relation between payroll area & ESG for PCR. But when you run payroll of a particular payroll area, the process will flow in specific direction which will pertain to a specific 'ESG FOR PCR'. In that angle, you may assign those specific ESG for PCR to specific payroll area, which will run payroll neatly as well as, you can easily identify the process flow & calculation logic of various employee population in your organisation.

Hi Ram,

Payroll Area is created in order to process payroll for a group of employees together for the same period, on the same day.

Normally we can create multiple Payroll Area but it is advisible to use few payroll area. Normally different payroll area is required

1) The Payroll Periodicity is different. Example: Payroll is run weekly for hourly paid employees and monthly for salaried employees.

2) The Payroll Period is different. Example: 25th of the month for salaried employees and on 20th of the month for hourly paid employees.

3) The Payment Date is different. Example: Salaried Employees payment date is 1st of the following month and Hourly Paid employees is 5th of the following month.

4) Payroll should not be run for certain employees.

Hope this help you.

Thanks & Regards
