Assembly: Excess and missing BOM components

Hi experts,

I want to Setup Scenario for excess and missing BOM components.

ME customizing:

1. Change systemrule for component traceability "Allow Assembly Qty as Required" to TRUE

2. Go to BOM component and enable/disable "Assembly Qty as required"

First question: Do I have to enable or disable "Assembly Qty as required" for BOM component to allow excess of components?

Hi Anke!

The rule just allows you to assemble whatever needed qty for the component.

What does that mean? I tested enabled Scenario and "required qty" is set to Zero in Assembly Plugin (CT500). I'm not able to assemble qty>0.

I already read How-To-Guide and Online help, but I do not understand.

Second question: What do I have to configure to allow excess and missing components?

For CT520 I can set acivity rules but I'm not allowed to assemble more components in Assembly Plugin (CT500).

Thanks and regards,

Anke

Just tested in 15.0.3.7:

- enabled the system rule;

- created a BOM with the component of qty = 3, with the flag selected;

- released an SFC and opened CT500;

- CT500 showed qty = 3 but I changed to 5 and assembled successfully.

The behavior you are describing should have been changed a while ago. At least in 15.0 this seems to have been done.

I'm working in ME 15.0.1.2 and selected flag for "Assembly Qty as required" disables the qty and Assembly data type field. Therefore I can not enter component quantity.

Do you think that is a bug?

In 15.0.3.7 it works in the different way that I described above. Please upgrade to the latest release.
