database startup failed with error code 14

hi all

Please help me

i have a Oracle database.

i login as a "orasid" then start listener by "lsnrctl start" command.

listener start successfully.i have checked it by "lsnrctl status".

Then m login as a "sidadm" and trying to start sap by "startsap" command it gives an error 

like  "DB STARTUP FAILED "

TERMINATING WITH ERROR CODE 14.

please help me as soon ..

On ora<sid> have you executed SQL query startup & checked database stared or not ? After that you need to execute startsap at <sid>adm.
