I'm trying to uninstall Crystal Reports XI R2 but during uninstall I get an error "Error 1316. The specified account already exists". I know this is not just a Crystal Reports issue because I've seen other posts from people having issues uninstalling other programs who got the same error message but I was wondering if anybody knows how to get around this error.
thanks,
Beata
Hi Beata
Try running the Microsoft install cleanup utility:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/en
Try to update CR XI R2 as per the this blog:
Then try to uninstall.
Lastly, simply do a manual uninstall;
Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\bin
Delete the reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\
NOTE! All usual warnings re. modifying reg keys apply. E.g.; if you're not sure, don't do it!

Ludek,
I was install Crystal Reports. Here is what I did: I uninstalled some other programs, including Visual Studio. After that I still was not able to uninstall Crystal Reports from the Programs list. I rebooted the servers (was needed after some other uninstalls) then ran Crystal Reports XI R2 SP4 Full Build and on the first screen selected "Uninstall". It worked.
thanks,
