I miss the choice of colours and icons on the SCN

Strangely, the only thing you have a choice on visually here is the template avatar. We have a choice between:

Mr Dark-Blue..

..Mr Light-Blue..

...and Mr Outer-Space:

This raises 3 questions:

1. Why 3 and not ..10?

2. Where are the girl-avatars?

3. Why avatars at all, since the second mission is to upload an image for the profile?

I'd find it more appealing if I could change the colour setting to "Matrix Style" with green on black to impress others who take a look on my screen and then switch back to normal mode when they're gone again.

Or maybe an individualized background image would be nice... but those avatars?? Doesn't make sense to me...

PS: Am I the only one who is annoyed by the 10pt font size on default? Or is that just my vision?

Hm, this might as well be Ms. Dark-Blue - there are all kinds of ladies these days. But it's an interesting point.

Avatars are needed because the large picture that we chose for the profile page might not look great as a teeny-tiny avatar. Also some folks like making statements (or just have fun) with their avatars.

The font size doesn't bother me much personally because I read SCN on laptop that has zoom in the browser. It is actually more annoying when people, ahem, use a different font because then huge letters jump right at you - yikes! But it's not as bad as some Technicolor blogs.

Maybe something to put on the wishlist for SCN 3.0, eh?

I think before the avatars the badges and points are the real visuals which strikes   first then only comes the avatar if there is no other image uploaded.

I agree there should be some more avatars available not just the three .

The background also could undergo some changes. If there were some theme options could have been more colorful to the eyes.

Especially more smileys too
