Independent Demand Scenario in S&OP 3.0.2.2

Former Member

Hi Team,

We have a requirement of INDEPENDENTDEMAND@PERPRODLOC key figure in S&OP on-premise 3.0.2.2 version. Is there a workaround to achieve this?

Is there a way to add demand to DEPENDENTDEMAND key figure by changing the formula of DEPENDENTDEMAND key figure to:

=IF ("LOCID=''XXXX'', (DEPENDENTDEMAND + INDEPENDENTDEMAND), DEPENDENTDEMAND)

LOCID here will be manufacturing location only.

Supply Algo used: Unconstrained D/S (No Shortage)

Alternate way for this is by creating a dummy customer or setting higher safety stock but we want to keep that as option 2.

Thanks for your inputs.

Regards,

Aditya G

Hello Aditya,

Have you tried creating a KF Independentdemand @perprodloc and then mark it as 'Input for supply planning'. I think this way it should consider it as input along with dependent demand at the manufacturing location.

Hi Rohit,

Will the planning operator (unconstrained D/S no shortage) accept this input key figure?

Hi Aditya,

The operator does consider Independent demand if marked as Direct input for supply planning. Have you tested this configuration and checked if net demand generated is as expected?

Thanks,

Hi Rohit,

Created a key figure INDEPENDENTDEMAND@PERPRODLOC level, stored and input for supply planning but INDEPENDENTDEMAND quantity is not getting propagated to NETDEMAND@PERPRODLOC post supply planning run.

Any suggestions?

Hi Aditya,

As per my knowledge, a fix is now available for this in AFL patch- REV.85.04 AFL PL.21.

Can you please apply it and try again.

Thanks,

Hi Rohit,

Post upgrade to 3.0.2.3 (HANA DB upgrade to 85.04) we were able to successfully use INDEPENDENTDEMAND@PERPRODLOC key figure.

Thanks Pramod and Rohit.

Hi Rohit,

Current calculation ->

NETDEMAND = DEPENDENTDEMAND considering sourcing quota as 1.

PROJECTEDINVENTORY = PRODUCTION - NETDEMAND

Suggestion -> NETDEMAND = DEPENDENTDEMAND + INDEPENDENTDEMAND

As per the current calculation, PROJECTEDINVENTORY = INDEPENDENTDEMAND

Below is the example:

Please guide.
