Export to excel and Can Grow issue

Former Member

Hello,

I have aligned all the objects to the grid and all the column headers/details are exactly aligned and of same size. I have also positioned all the objects to remove and gaps anywhere. I need to apply can grow as the length of the texts is long and the report is to be fitted into A4.

However, this is what happens..The heights of the column details are not matching. When exported to excel, blank rows appear(columns are perfect) Please suggest a way out for both the views.

Thanks,

Prasanna

Hi Prasanna

See this Discussion for resources re. best practices when designing reports for export to XLS.

And one more doc that will be useful:

Hi Ludek,

Thanks for the update!

Currently, a field with 'can-grow' enabled is displaying all the information that can be accommodated in the height that i have manually assigned to it. After that, the information is truncated. How to tackle this issue?

Thanks,

Prasanna

Not sure I quite understand;

In the CR viewer the field shows as expected, in XLS export it is truncated?

What section is the field in?

Also, make sure you are using the latest Service Pack for your version of CR. Downloads Portal:

From my June 30 post:

Also, make sure you are using the latest Service Pack for your version of CR. Downloads Portal:

So, SP = Service Pack
