New depreciation area - error AU158

Hi

Our chart of depreciation has six depreciation area. Fiscal year closing has been done till 2014.

A new area let us say 60 is created.

However, while running AFBN to activate this area, getting the error AU158 Closed fiscal years of area 20 and area 60 differ by more than one year.

I checked in OAAR for the new area the closed fiscal year is coming as 2004. I think this is causing the error.

I am not able to change year 2004 in OAAR for this new dep area. Where is the system picking up this year 2004 from?

How to activate this new depreciation area in the assets ?

The issue now resolved. Changed the last closed fiscal year in customizing system to the same as productive system and added the entries in a transport. After moving the transport, was able to do AFBN without any errors.

Hi Raj,

Error AU158 is caused due to the fact that all dep. areas do not have the same last closed fiscal year in OAAR. As per your description,   area 60 is newly created so it should have the same fiscal year closed as all other areas (note 1065154 describes the reason).   Please check T093B-ABGJA.

Thanks for your reply. I understand that the last closed fiscal year should be the same for all depreciation areas. I want to know for this new depreciation area from where is the system picking up 2004 as the last closed fiscal year.
