FG code Transfer

Hi,

We have a client were FG code to FG code Transfer is been done for similar shades related products (SKU's).

This practice is done only when their is no stock of one of the product in the plant.

Is their any other option or we have to live with this issue.

Hi

You can do the Material to Material Transfer against 309 in MIGO - Transfer Posting Material to Material   or  MB1B

Another thing what you can do to develop a Z Program, when you execute with the Material to  Material transfer , system should check the Old Material Number (that will be stored in MARA table) and check the stocks in MARD / MCHB / MARDH / MCHBH tables and show the stocks with the Batch numbers.

In the report output you can have  check boxes in the output and also a execute button. Once the use selects the required materials for transfer and executes, then you may call one BAPI for performing the 309 Movement. You can use BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE, BAPI for this purpose.

It depends on the business requirement and no of Transfer posting happened .

Logically it seems you are doing this transfer to meet requirements example sales orders. If one material is not available then you are shipping other to meet the requirement (correct me if I am wrong). If this is the case then you can use material substitution functionality to meet such sales orders. Check with business is the above scenario valid? Since you mentioned in depot I don't think you have production order there or you have?

Hello,

You can do the stock transfer through MB1B 309 movement.

Or you can create manual production order for product and consume the similar FG product in it.

While confirmation system will update the inventor for one product and reduce the stock for another product.

But this FG code to FG code transfer is happening at depot plant. And what would be the difference between this two process - 1 FG code to FG code transfer and 2 COnsumption one FG to other FG through order ? What will be the impact ?

Hello,

You can do the material to material transfer by using MB1B with 309 movement type at depot. It is possible with same unit of measure of the product. If you have diffrent Prices for these all materials. Then it will hit price difference account.

Transfer through product order you can have with different unit of measure. You can create a production order where your first material is a component to produce the second material, you issue with 261 and receive with 101 movement.
