It uses the standard rule 157, simulate for the user if it brings any leading position for the user in question? You can check PFAC for that..

no TR required. it should be done in your QAS testing client if you have more than one client.

Did you check any authorization missed for this user, check with SAP_ALL profile.

And also make sure workflow settings are done properly in t-code SWU3.

it works on Org Assignment, has this been done? ie employee reporting to a manager as it cant determine next agent and hence errors out http://scn.sap.com/thread/1943286 The error message which you are getting in your system generally occurs due to improper customization and configuration of workflow and tasks related with CATS. So you might want to check through the customization 'You can assign agents by: - Assigning the standard task using an organizational plan object - Defining the standard task as a general task. You are advised to use  this option if you have not yet maintained an organizational plan and  do not intend creating one.  For more information, see Preparation and Customizing of the Approval  Workflow - Determining the agent using the SAP enhancement Determine Workflow  Recipients for Approval (CATS0008).  For more information, see the documentation for the SAP enhancement.' Finally the Task TS31000007 determines the agents based on the  'Reporting Structure' in transaction PPOSW, please check that this  is also setup correctly, you can see this as following: -> Place the cursor on 'Software Manager' Position and click on Goto  button (Left top corner) -> Select Reporting Structure. -> Here the relationship 'is line supervisor of ' is defined for  Manager X with respect to employee Y
