how could i resize the controlfile size

  Now the file system which the controlfile was included will be full. How should i resize the controlfile's size. Please give me a method without moving it.

Hi,

there is only one way how to resize the controlfile and that is to rebuild it.

you can generate script with "alter database backup controlfile to trace" command.

To resize control file you have to regenerate it.

Are you trying to resize control file, or you want to move control file to another file system/location?

the parameter control_file_record_keep_time can control the control file size.

Thank you for your reply.But if i decreased this parameter ,the size of controlfile could not be decreased. Now i did not want to move the controlfile.

The parameter won't decrease the control file size, but will prevent it grows.

Beside recreating it, I do not see any other options to decrease it size. What is the size of your control file?
