how to change default base UOM

Hi:

when I first time create UOM , it default as EA (each).

how to change this pls?

and where default come from?

The default Base UOM should be coming from the reference article assigned to the merchandise category.

You can change the Base UOM of the new article during article creation, but not after the article has been used in a business process.

how to change UOM when I first time create article pls.

I try to delete UOM but got message cannot delete.
