Bex web application timed or not available

Hi Everyone,

In BI 7.3 portal system , We are getting the below error when we are leaving the BI report idle for around 5-6 minutes.

Bex web application "1_XYdmldnkdmcdkcmdkcmd3mkcdmccksc4mjhvghm4mo4n4" does not exist or timed out.

Exception occured while processing the current request;this exception cannot be handled by the application or framework.

This issue is coming in Production system but not in the Quality system so we can rule out the patch level upgradation thing.

I can not see any logs in BI abap system or in dev_trace. It comes when I click on change varialble or any other option after 5-6 minutes in the result page of report. It is happening in all the BI Reports.

I have checked few sap notes and 1638319 - BEx Web 7.3x: Web Session Timeout not Working looks close to our issue.

But When I am trying to change irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/ com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal. integration.sessionoverview to 60 min.value in NWA it's getting changed by itself to 15 minutes with in few seconds.

Not sure by doing above error will get resolve or not.

Kindly suggest as we are running out of ideas with high priority message is also raised to SAP for the same.

Hi Manjunath,

I have checked the notes mentioned by you but they are for release 3.X.

Currently I am on 7.31 but still I am trying to figure it out how can we change use_page_wrapper property in the template.

I am not sure how to make changes in template.

and also checking how and where to change NO_SESSION_COOKIE=X.

Hi Everyone,

Strange thing is report is giving this error in the range of 3 to 15 minutes anytime.

its not like every time it is giving error exact after 5 minutes.(Seems like not a timeout issue dependent on any timeout parameter).

I can not see any logs are getting created in SM21, ST22 , Portal trace etc.

I have installed one tool - fiddler , In which I can see error code - 500.

And no other so relevant information about this issue.SAP message is also going on high priority.

But reply from sap is slow.I have checked many Timeout parameters , Session idle parameters but I guess not hitting the exact spot at the moment.

Any suggestions are welcome !

Hi Anand,

I have already checked that note.

Report is getting timed out sometime after 3 minutes some times after 4 minutes.

Even I have changed the parameter value as per SAP note 1638319 as well but issue not yet resolved.

1.  Is this any error message in SM21 log or Dump in ST22 ?

2. What is the dialog time out parameter in your BI system? Parameter = rdisp/max_wprun_time ?

I can not see any error logs in SM21.

I have checked that parameter the value was set to 3600.
