Power Designer and Solution Manager

Hi,

I attended a Solution Manager 7.2 webinar, and now I have some questions about Power Designer's capabilities.  Per the diagram below, it talks of a Business Portal that is under the Power Designer capabilities.  Can someone point me to documentation that talks about this Business Portal capability?

Thanks.

Hi Mel,

The "Business Portal" capability is something that is developed through Solution Manager 7.2.  The SAP PowerDesigner team does not have specific documentation on how that might be delivered.

I'd recommend you post a similar question to the SCN area for Solution Manager:  http://scn.sap.com/community/it-management/alm/solution-manager?url_id=text-search-best-best-scn-com... where a specialist might be able to offer a better response.

Thank-you,

David.

David,

Thanks for the reply.  During the Solution Manager seminar, I asked about the "Business Portal" and the presenter said that it was something that is under the Power Designer realm per the Powerpoint slide.  From your response, I take it that Power Designer doesn't have a portal that business users would use to manage business processes.  I assume it is only an IT department tool or set of tools.

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply, I now better understand your question.

SAP PowerDesigner has a PowerDesigner Web capability that is a business portal today.  This is delivered with the product and documentation on this capability can be found online at:

PowerDesigner Web - SAP Library at: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_pd1655_pdweb/helpdata/en/a9/8e52bd864b4a979f1aec79c7c69290/frameset.htm

My response was based on what I thought was a request for the future direction for Solution Manager 7.2 and how the current SAP PowerDesigner Web features would interact.  I cannot speak to Solution Manager future directions, but the Solution Manager SCN folks could help there.

Please let me know if I can provide further detail
