Hi Friends,
We have completed the Technical Upgrade of the ESS/MSS Portal to 7.4 and also from ECC 6.0 EHP 5 to EHP7. Based on SAP's suggestion the below business packages were deployed.
We have assigned the standard ESS/MSS roles but still we are facing issues when accessing the ESS portal.
Could you please advise if:
1. We need to activate any additional Business Functions?
2. What's the importance of LPD_CUST transaction?
3. What other configurations are needed backend?
Being our first portal upgrade experience, any valuable inputs are appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Vish
For using new functionality yes you need to activate switches, and assign the correct WDA roles and LPD_CUST is new homepage customisation in WDA and you can control services visiblty etc
Please refer here, all is explained here about LPD_CUST
http://scn.sap.com/community/erp/hcm/employee-self-service/blog/2014/04/18/hcm-ehp5-ehp6-and-hr-rene... All the switches are listed here, You can read which functionality is avialable etc. Please check and ensure you assign the latest role http://help.sap.com/erp_hcm_ias_2013_02/helpdata/en/67/0e088a70574ae6a9c82f167e5f79d8/content.htm?fr... Not sure why you are planning EHP5? You already on EHP7, you can use new functionality ie HR renewal, if you dont want HR renewal atleast get to use till EHP6. please note it ll require new roles and customisation, kind of new implementation etc, Please read above

Hi Siddharth,
Thanks for the info and sharing the links. Will go through those.
Just a small clarification, we are not planning for EHP5. We were on EHP5 and now moved to EHP7. My statement was "We have completed the Technical Upgrade of the ESS/MSS Portal to 7.4 and also from ECC 6.0 EHP 5 to EHP7."
Hope it is clear now. Thanks again.
Regards,
Vish
