Depreciation Stop due to change in useful life of Asset

Dear Expats

We are facing one issue regarding dep calculation of asset.

After analysis we have found that Asset useful life was changed. (Dep calculation stop from 2015)

But how (lots of Asset) no one identify this issue.

When we are executing T code AS02 below message is showing.

But we don't see any change!!!

How can we re-aline the all asset regarding useful life issue.

Hi Tarek,

Go to AS02 and check original useful life changed. Here you can find the original useful life and changed useful life in old and new fields. Based on this you can change the old useful life.

in 2013

Asset useful life is   10  0

Expire useful life is    0  0

Remaining life is      10  0

But in 2014

Asset useful life is     10     0

Expire useful life is    0     153

Remaining life is         9      212

But we can not identify how system was change to expire asset useful life to 153

153/12 = 12.75 year

So that in 2015 no depreciation is running.

in AS02 we can found the Asset useful field.

Asset useful life is 10, this is ok.

But Expire useful life field is Deactive. Not changable.

Is there any T Code to change the expire asset useful life?

Hi Tarek,

Check the depreciation start date of the asset and look for changes for this field. And also check the changes done for the asset.

Hi,

In T-Code AO21, the screen layout is there of depreciation tab of asset master data.

So by that you can make the expired useful life as modifiable for Asset master.

AO21 Screen - Which tab is applicable for active the expire useful life.

We have made the Expired useful life as optional.

Than in AS02 process we have found the expired useful life active.
