Is there a solution where Smart Data Streaming was Stopped from SAP HANA Studio?

In the Smart Data Streaming documentation, there is a note stating that you should stop/start HANA Smart Data Streaming using HDB start and HDB stop. Is there a fix as to stopping and starting via HANA Studio?

Yes there is a way.

In the Hana studio double click on the system that is hosting SDS. 

     * On the right side click on the landscape tab. 

     * You will see a list of services running. 

     * Right click on the Smart Data Streaming service and say either stop or kill.  Note that the service will automatically restart in a minute or so.  If it does not, you can click on 'Start missing services'

Note that the projects don't automatically restart.  You will have to connect to the correct SDS via the SDS Hana Studio Plugin and restart the individual projects.
