External operation - workaround

Hi team , I am aware that external operation (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3726815)  is not supported in SAP ME .but is there any workaround or the best possible solution to achieve this . May be writing custom Java code .Please advice.

It depends on your business requirements. What functionality do you need to provide or data do you need capture in support of the external operation?

OK, but that describes the process in ECC. What is your expectation of SAP ME? Why does it need to model the external operation at all, for example?

In a router , we have many external operations which need to done outside the current plant  . Since these steps are now executed in SAP ME .can we directly raise a purchase requisition  and record the quality data.
