How to define a material type on client level in case of different material types on plant level?

Dear SAP experts,

We are going to implement SAP. Today we maintain in our current ERP system material types on plant level. Now we are confronted with the fact that material types are maintained on client Level in SAP (in MARA table). We have the situation that a product can be manufactured in one plant and purchase and sold by other plants belonging to the same client. I am not clear about on how to convert material types.   

I am thankful for each advice.

Example

Material number	Plant A	Plant B	Material type for Client
20817460	Manufactured and sold to plant B and 3rd party customers	Purchased from plant A and sold to 3rd party customers	?
20817411	Purchased from plant B and sold to 3rd party customers	Manufactured and sold to plant A and 3rd party customers	?

Hi,

   U can maintain material type depending on the valuation area, no valuation area and in all valuation area.

If u want to maintain material type in all valuation area u can change the radio button in OMS2, from "by valuation area" to "In all valuation area".

Steps::

1) TCode::OMS2

2) Select the appropriate material type and click on details.

3) Change the radio button from "By valuation area" to "In all valuation area" under quantity and value updating field.
