extraction phase-SUM is throwing error

Hi,

We are in the extraction phase of SUM and it has stopped in the same.

OS is AIX7.1/ORACLE11g/R3-4.7->ECC6

The error pointed in log is-

exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program R3load because of the following errors:

rtld: 0712-001 Symbol guesses was referenced

      from module R3load(), but a runtime definition

      of the symbol was not found.

Any guesses to solve this?

Have you updated the tp in the current kernel files?

What is your current Oracle and oracle client version?

Yes  i have patched the kernel to current one.

Oracle version 11.2.0.4 and Oracle Client version is 10 v2 version.

Please suggest.

HI,

you may not use oracle client 10 with advanced version of oracle 11.2.0.4.

You need to upgrade your oracle client 11, by creating a symbolic link.

Hi,

Sure. You can follow the below steps to create a symbolic link for your new client.

==============================================================

1. create a   dir 11x_64 in /oracle/client

2. dump the oracle client software to this new direcotry,

3. creating soft link for this new client

os> ln -s /oracle/client/11x_64/instantclient_11204 instantclient

4. Change the entries of all env files under home dir(/home/sidadm). in these env files we have to replace the value of old client (10x_64) to new client(11x_64).

the files where change is required are:(1).dbenv_hostname.sh (2).dbenv_hostname.csh (3).dbenv.sh (4).dbenv.csh

Hi Gaurav,

There is a SAP note on this error and most probably you will have to upgrade your Oracle client for this.

SAP note is 2066445 - SUM: 'Cannot load program R3load' during an SAP upgrade
