Distribution By Reference Data in SAP BW-IP

Hi all,

We're facing an issue with Distribution By Reference Data Planning Functions.

We have set the behaviour of Planning Function when No Reference data exists to Equally distribute Over Existing Objects.

Planning Sequence first copies data from one Version to another as it is.

We have two aggregation Levels as follows.

In first Step of Planning Sequence, the planning function copies data from ALVL1 to ALVL2. Both have different versions, copying executes succesfully

ALVL1ALVL2
CDT1CDT1
CDT2CDT2
CDT3CDT3
CDT4

In second step, on ALVL2,  we execute Planning Function of type, Distribution By Reference Data. With Behaviour set to Equal Distribution to existing Objects when no reference Data.

When we give reference data, either self or different version, the planning function executes successfully, distributing values to CDT4.

But when no reference data exists, nothing happens. No distribution occurs.

We have already raised the same to SAP.

Anyone else having similar issue or faced this type of behaviour?

This is happening to all Planning Functions of type Distribution By Reference Data. Equal Distribution in absence of reference data does not happen.

Hi,

Have you tried "Distribution by Keys" (0RSPL_DISTR_KEY) ?
I guess it is better than "Distribution by Reference Data" 0RSPL_DISTR_REFDATA because you cannot actually find the suitable reference records for distribution function.

Best Regards,
Sheldon.
