If you look near the bottom you will find the tutorial file which makes a great starting point. It provides some sample ATL files that you can import and look at.
Oh how silly of me...the Tutorials are in the installation folder where Data Services resides, and the ATL samples are in the Data Services Blueprints section of the SCN developer network...each available from the start page within SAP Data Services Designer.
The ATL files I was referring to are long gone...that was a long time ago now!
