MDVP run time with large BOMs and multiple orders

We are converting from Repetitive to Discrete manufacturing and have started using MDVP.  We have planned orders broken down based onf maximum lot size.  This creates multiple production orders for the same day.  We run MDVP for 7 weeks and it takes 6 hours to run over night.  We have tested and found that if we had fewer planned orders it would run quicker. We break down the planned orders so we can better manage material flow to the work cells.  Our BOMs have on average 35 parts.  I was wondering if anyone had any experience with having MDVP run quicker given that we have multiple orders with large BOMs?

To analyze the performance issue, a trace should be taken to identify the bottleneck. You may first check if note 1287893, 1297958 are applicable for your support package, and then take a trace in ST12 to analyze the performance bottleneck.
