Dear Team

Can any help me in understanding functionality of document management and record management and its usefulness in RE-FX module?

Is there any integration process between these two?

Kindly share your views.

Hello Shantanu,

DMS is a well integrated module with almost every modules in ECC. This module is used for management of documents in an integrated manner. DMS uses Content repository for storing of different types of documents. If you have well established DMS module then you just need to configure the document type for RE object (say contract,RO,building etc.).

DMS activation for REFX will allow you to access any document attached in RE object with just a single click. DMS can be also accessed via Easy DMS (Front end DMS GUI), which is as easy as Drag and drop functionality for attaching different document types in different objects.

DMS is a more advanced version than Records management, hence if you are looking for documents integration with RE objects, I would recommend you to go for DMS.

Using the Document Management system in REFX  you can store , the documents involved in the rental management process (such as Tenant Id proofs, any legal documents, master data summaries, letters, contract forms, presentations, structural drawings, or photos of buildings / properties..etc.)

You can select the DMS on your choice, SAP DMS is also available along with third party DMS. Some of the recent DMS features is you can manage the REFX / any other module workflow also through DMS.
