Hi All,
For the past week, my trial HCP instance has been having a few issues with the Portal service. I am no longer able to edit my portal sites in the browser-based tool - nothing works!
Please see this video to see the problem in action but in summary, once I am in edit mode of a Portal site, none of the tools or navigation on the right of the browser responds to user interaction.
Anyone know what I can do to check and try and fix it?
Cheers,
G.
Just noticed this error in the Chrome console:-
"Failed to clear temp storage: It was determined that certain files are unsafe for access within a Web application, or that too many calls are being made on file resources. SecurityError"
Could that be related?

Hi Run,
I've just repeated it against my Prod instance in the Europe Data Centre.
I used my S0014440739 user at 15:26GMT on 03.09.2015.
Thanks again,
Gareth.

Further to my original problem with my trial instances, I've now performed some testing on our productive HCP account and experience the exact same problem.
What the hell is wrong with my local Chrome install?!

Hello Gareth,
I believe that the uninstallation did not remove profile related data, settings, and more
I guess your best option is to try to make a real chrome cleanup and then reinstall it
Or you can try reviewing current settings of your chrome as this is not a real scratch installation
I will continue the investigation from my side too
Thanks & regards,

Hi Run,
I've performed numerous uninstalls of Chrome now, even going so far as to clear down all related entries in the Windows Registry and deleting all possible folders and files from the hard drive. Basically, I think I've done everything I possibly can to clear Chrome from my machine. As part of this, I have completely removed all profile data from my PC too.
I still have the same problem on my trial and production HCP accounts!
Is there anything you can recommend I capture from Chrome that might help to identify what the problem is as this is beginning to cause me a significant problem with some solutions I am trying to build.
Cheers,
Gareth.
Further testing shows that it works perfectly in Firefox, so appears to be a local Chrome related issue. However I have the issue on 3 different laptops, so it's not too local...

Hello Ryan,
Thanks for contacting us.
I've tried to reproduce this on several laptops with no success.
is there any chance that you've tried to reopen chrome, or restart your laptop?
If so did it still reproduce?
If the problem persists on your side, can you please share some info on your environment?
Anything like chrome extensions, OS version, other Cloud Portal sessions open in parallel, ...
also, if possible please add the F12 recording it will be great
Please share every possible information.
one last request, please share a specific time when you reproduce to that I could filter the logs.
Thanks & regards,
Run

Hi Run,
Thanks for the response. I'm now thinking it is definitely something related to my personal Chrome installation and possily some add-in or extension. Obviously, they all sync across my devices (good old cloud!) so the problem manifests itself on whichever machine I use.
I've had the problem for over a week now after various reboots and restarts of Chrome. I've also cleared down all of my history, cookies, etc. in Chrome and it hasn't helped.
I'll work through your suggestions/requests and get back to you - thanks again.
Cheers,
Gareth.
Hi Run,
I've done some basic testing and the problem appears to be tied to my current laptop and Chrome installation. I've performed the following tests:
Here is a video of the problem in action again, with Chrome console showing:-

For further info, I've just tried on a completely different HCP Trial instance that had only been created a few days ago and had no services or content updated on it.
I enabled the HCP Portal service, opened the HCP Portal and added the "SAP HANA Cloud Portal" site from the marketplace. If I try to edit it I get exactly the same thing.
Here is a shot showing the Chrome console with a few errors:
