Former Member

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with me DataServices because I can't to run my Job, the message say: The job server you selected is not working.

I've seen several answers regarding this issue, I tried to connect via telnet but without success, also I disabled my firewall but the error persists. I have also seen in the CMC and JobServer is running normally.

I started this project and this error will not let me continue.

Can anyone please help me on this as I am struggling with the same issue for the last 2 days?

Thank you so much

Hi Juan,

Please refer the below SNotes.

1416303 - Can't reach Job Server from DS Designer
Links:

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1416303

1235676 - Designer is not communicating with the job server

Links:

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1235676

And also checked hoe many ports you have opened for inbound and putbound at firewall level, It is better if you share firewall port status for Job Server like

- How many ports are open for job server

- How many designer are accessing Data Services Designer

Hope this will help!!!!

Thanks,

Daya

Did you check the services?

Hi Chethan,

I have access to the CMC and I can see that the Job Server is running, and that his last modified was March 18.

My pc is Client and it's connected for VPN.

Thank you so much.

Hi Juan, Did you try turning off firewall on both client machine and job server?

Re-sync repository in jobserver.

Hi Chethan,

My problem still Persists, this is why we will delegate the technical area of the company to run my project, I'll just tell him your advice to take it into consideration.

I will be reporting what was the solution.

Thank you so much.

Hi Juan, turning off the firewall was just to diagnose the issue.

You should

  1. Add all BODS ports in firewall's inbound and outbound exception. For port numbers, refer page 20 in http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sbods41/en/sbo41_ds_install_win_en.pdf
  2. Restart BODS services.
  3. Resync repositories.

Hello Juan Nicolas,

are you sure that the ports of your Job Server are opened?

What do you mean by connecting via telnet without success you were able to connect via telnet or not?
Did it work before?
Do you use the designer on a client machine or on a VM?
If you use it on a VM can you run your job there?

Best Regards

Hi Eduard,

1. Yes, I created an inbound rule indicating the port 3500 TCP, but in addition to this I disabled the firewall.

2. Could not connect me through telnet.

3. Not, this is the first time I run it.

4. I use Windows 7 SP1 on a client computer.

Thank you so much.
