SD Intercompany process

Hello Experts,

I have a basic question regarding the intercompany process in SD. Since the sales org and plant are in different company codes so once the sales order is created then how will the Plant know about the requirements? Iss MRP process in intercompany sales similar to standard sales?

Karan,

It is a fundamental question (and not a basic question).

Business example:

1. Customer orders goods from Germany.

2. Germany customer service checks available stock, he/she sees that there is no stock.

3. He/she call Netherlands, I have an order for 20 pallets of XYZ material do you have stock and can you deliver to ABC customer on next monday? Netherlands customer service says yes, and give the internal price (which Germany agrees to).

4. Then Germany CS staff makes the order and delivery is handled by Netherlands.

5. Constant communication takes place between these two company codes of the same organization.

Yes MRP works (if setup) in the same way as other sales, and requirements are transferred backwards for production or procurement.

Hi Karan,

Sales Organizations and Plants are uniquely assigned to Company codes. It is not possible to assign either a plant or a sales organization to more than one company code.

Sales organizations and plants assigned to each other need not belong to the same company code.

In other terms,

A plant belonging to Company code A & assigned to Sales Organization A can also be assigned to Sales Organization B of Company Code B.

Raise the sales order by using Transaction code VA01 under 2200 – 10 – 00 sales area and maintain all the relevant data in the sales order, and check which plant system determined automatically for a line item.

– System determines 2200 plant.

– So as to process the intercompany sales, we have to change the plant as 1200.

Do both companies operate within the same client or they use completely different systems?

Have you considered using third-party or ALE process to achieve the requirement?
