Hello Junaid,
So you are able to uncompress the SAPEXEDB.SAR but you facing problems in uncompromising the SAPEXE.SAR
Since it tell that it is used by another process.I recommend you to please remove the extracted DB dependent SAR files and freshly download the two files DB dependent and Independent from Service marketplace by reviewing the correction versions as needed.
Then apply the following process.
let me know
Thanks
Aftab
Hello Junaid,
NOTE : Please see the path where you have kept the sapexe.sar and sapexedb.sar.also check whether you have created a new directory to tranfer these two DB dependent and DB independent file which is under cd /sapmnt/SID/exe DO CHECK THIS and then run car command
1.) Create a new dir in the filesystem name exe_new.
2.) check the path cd /sapmnt/exe/exe_new it should be this.
2.) Put the two files sapexe.sar and sapexedb.sar in this dir exe_new using WINSCP
3.) Now uncompress the two files using
SAPCAR -xvf sapexe.SAR
SAPCAR -xvf sapexedb.SAR

Hi Junaid, 1. Log on as user adm and switch to the global host in your kernel directory, for example: :\usr\sap\\sys\exe\ directory, for example .save 3. Create a new directory and switch to this directory.Unpack the new kernel from the directory of the downloaded archive in the specified sequence. Important: Do not call SAPCAR.EXE directly without specifying a path; instead, use the specified directory structure \SAPCAR.EXE -xvf \SAPEXE.SAR \SAPCAR.EXE -xvf \SAPEXEDB.SAR Best regards, Candy
Hi Junaid,
You need to use SAPCAR.EXE while extracting. And if you downloaded the latest SAPCAR file,
do rename the file from SAPCAR<Patch number>.exe to SAPCAR.exe.
Also do login with <SID>adm user of your system where in the SAP Environments will be active to use default SAPCAR exe.
Let us know if you need any further help.

Hi Junaid,
Can you paste the screenshot of which command your trying so that we will be able to help you.
Also do create a new folder and copy your SAPEXExx.SAR & SAPEXEDBxx.SAR file there.
and then do as below:-
cd <new location>
and run
SAPCAR -xvf SAPEXExx.SAR
SAPCAR -xvf SAPEXEDBxx.SAR
This should extract all files. do send us the screenshot of error so it will be easy to guide.

Junaid,
You should uncar them in any new folder.
Bring down SAP and DB,stop all services in Windows services.
Use SIDADM to Copy and paste uncared file in the mentioned path.(which will replace or overwrite most of the existing exe files)
You have placed Kernel file in the path \usr\sap\ECQ\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64. The kernel files does contain sapcar.exe also.
Please check.
try
sapcar.exe -xvf SAPEXE.SAR
sapcar.exe -xvf SAPEXEDB.SAR

Hello Junaid,
Please do like this..
1) Create a folder in some file system as "kernel"
2) Copy those SAR files to that directory
3) Copy SAPCAR file to same directory and rename that file to SAPCAR1
4) Chnage permission to total directory with <SIDadm>:sapsys
5) Now uncompress by using SAPCAR1 -xvf <filename>
6) Bring down the system which you want to upgrade kernel
7) Now you can copy the extracted files to your kernel loction... before doing this TAKE A BACKUP OF EXISTING KERNEL DIRECTORY (exe).
Please try and let me know the results.

KK
