Error\: Provider Selection Object: Initialization Issue in BO Analysis

Hi there,

We are using SAP BusinessOBjects Analysis for Office (Excel) version 1.1.0.1167 with MS Office 2007 on Windows XP.

after selecting the query, we are getting below error message:

Error\: Provider Selection Object: Initialization Issue

Workflow to reproduce the issue:

1. starting SAP BO Analysis for Excel

2. Select the Analysis tab on the Excel Ribbon

3. Click the Insert button on the Data Source section of the Ribbon and click on “Select Data Source…”

4. server and click “Next”

5. entering the Source infos and click “OK”

6. I then select the Search tab, enter the query technical name, click the search button, select the query from the list box and click OK. 

Could someone help me in resolving the issue?

This is a really old version of Analysis Office - please upgrade to at least 1.4 version SP 13 - 1.1 is likely out of support

Sorry Tammy, I have the AfO Version 2.0 and MS Office 2010 and I get the same Error Message.

Qamile - are you still using Windows XP?  Because Windows XP is no longer supported.

No, we are Using W7 and/or W8 but NOT XP.

I'm confused, Qamile - at the top you say you are using Analysis Office 2007 on XP

2007 is not supported by Analysis 2.0

Which SP of Analysis Office 2.0 are you using?  What do "further messages" say?

Sorry Tammy, it was a mistake (I am working for 2 costumers)

I am using SAP BO Analysis for Office version 1.4.12.3394.on Excel 2010.

In the error list above, it says "Further messages" - what does "further messages" say?

Additionally, a patch for SP13 was released last week.  Please apply the 1.4 SP13 patch and try again
