As TM04 schema is used in both positive and negative
time management scenarios, is it also possible to use TM00 for both scenario? If not then why?
I am bit confused between TM04 and TM00 schemas, SAP HR experts please help...
In Simpler terms we can say
TM00 - +ve only
TM01 - - ve only
where as TM04 we can use for +ve without clock times and also Negative. Mostly TM04 is used.
Basic difference between +ve time and -ve time is 2011 and 2002 infotypes
.
Hope this clarifies.

Ashok

As mentioned by Woody Nguyen The main difference is P2011 in the schema when you are using go ahead with TM00 else TM04.
Similarly you can find the difference between TIMTP and TYPES, We can see few other differences in Over time calculations.

TM00 - Time Evaluation With Clock Times
TM04 - Time Evaluation Without Clock Times
It is quite clear that you should you TM00 if you want to evaluate clock in & out IT2011. Normally we call it is + Time.
In case you are basing on IT0007, IT2001, IT2002 and don't have records in IT2011, recommend to use TM04 which is call - Time.
In fact TM00 is more complicated than TM04, so if you are not quite deep understand Time, you should start using and customizing TM04.
I have quite number of documents about Time Schema, please see the link below:
Useful documents for Schema & PCR configuration
And most important T-code is PDSY or press F1 key in each function / prc in Time Schema, you will have SAP documents. In addition to this run Time SChema with display log mode to see detail how it run.
Good luck. Hope you will soon clear Time Eval.

Woody

Hi,
Check the CHECK function in the schema TM00 & TM04.
Read the CHECK function details from Tcode PE04.
