Travelling consultants

Hey Guys,

How is everybody doing?

I love travelling. But I realized that now it's only when it's not for work. It wasn't the same all along my consulting career. I used to like it - meeting new people, gathering miles, all sorts of perks but not as much any more. May be it's the age, or it's just that I miss my wife too much!

Video conferencing and many related technologies are gaining momentum but I still believe the casual breaks, those 5 mins after the meetings with the client has no match. Those red eye flights will continue to haunt the consultants IMO.

I am sure a lot of you are in the same boat. How is travelling going on for you guys? Any innovative workarounds you have personally implemented?

Just a Thursday afternoon rant before I head back home!

Cheers!

Hi Raj,

I can say that I am warming up after two weeks of vacation.

There is a story that we like telling. Especially when we are away from home.

They asked a guy what he likes most during travelling.

He answered that turning back home is his favourite part of the travelling.

So, always home sweet home for me of course.

But as you mentioned it is good to meet new people, new countries, new customers.

I like travelling at most 5 days or less. Long journeys tires me and changes my routine.

It becomes difficult to recover.

Regards,
