Hi
Is it possible in AO to influence the prompt to hide/disable certain variable prompt fields until a specific variable was selected? I'm using a BEx query as datasource and has already implemented a cascading variable scenario using the F4 enhancement for cascading variables. However, the problem is that I want to force a specific sequence on variable selections
Thanks
Pieter
Hi Pieter,
I have no idea how the F4 enhancement works but I can hardly imagine you will achive this in standard AO...
You could think about the following idea as workaround:
- Customize your own Ribbons, to remove the official "Prompts" Button:

(but I'm not sure if you can get it removed from the mouse context menu?!)
- You could create your own sheet with input fields, which you take to set specific variables in the background via VBA. There you have the possibility to check the correct order of the filled input fields.
(check the help document about working with VBA)
If you have authorization variables to fill, your users could get confused, since you must refresh the DS once, before you can set any other variable via VBA. So they probably will get "No authorization" message on the first refresh...
Finally, what you could do is post it as an idea:
SAP BusinessObjects Analysis edition for MS Office: Home
... but the chances are very, very low.
Best regards,
Martin
