Backpropagation Neural Network Error

Hi All,

SAP HANA provides a Backpropagation Neural Network in the Predictive Analytics Library in SP09.

Each of the trained algorithm returns an error. But we are not told how this error is derived.

Please I will like to know if this error is calculated using the Root Mean Square Error (which is the standard) or something else is used to arrive at this error.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kayode,

Despite I never used the predictive I like the topic.

If you are receiving an error message, please post here. It's a bit generic that something is not working.

Also, an simple example which the colleagues can reproduce will be very helpful to understand and help you.

Thank you for your response.

My Backpropagation Neural Networks runs perfectly.However, when you train a model, SAP HANA returns the model in JSON format all also an evaluation error figure.

It is this error that I want to know how SAP arrived at, because there are different type of approaches for evaluating a Neural Network i.e Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) or Mean Absolute Error (MAE).

I hope my question is clearer.
