SAP BODS 4.2SP5, logs generated in C drive

Hi Guys

I have recently upgraded to BODS 4.2 SP5  on windows 2008R2. After the upgrade we notice that logs are generated in

"C:\ProgramData\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\log\JBSVR". I have tried using existing DSConfig file and creating a new one as well, but in both cases the logs are generated in C Drive.

Before upgarde the logs were generated in D drive and so edited a the new DSConfig as below and restarted the Job server,BODS Services and rebooted the server; even that does not help.

[AL_JobServer]

AL_JobServerPath ="D:\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services/bin/al_jobserver.exe"

AL_JobServerLoadBalanceDebug = FALSE

AL_JobServerLoadOSPolling = 60

AL_JobServerLoadRBThreshold = 10

AL_JobServerLoadAlwaysRoundRobin = FALSE

AL_JobServerAdditionalJobCommandLine =

AL_JobServerThreadPoolDebug = FALSE

ServiceDisplayName = SAP Data Services

AL_JobServerName1=JBSVR

AL_JobServerPort1=3500

AL_JobServerRepoPrefix1=

AL_JobServerLogReDir1="D:\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\log"

AL_JobServerLogDirectory1=log

Please advice how can we modify the path for log generation in SAP BODS4.2 SP5.

Regards

Manish Singh

There are several copies of the DSCONFIG.TXT file. Have you modified the one in ProgramData?

Hello Manish, You need to change path of DS_COMMON_DIR.

  1. Stop SAP Data Services from Windows Services.
  2. Stop EIM APS service via the Central Management Console (CMC).
  3. Copy entire the SAP BusinessObjects folder from the default DS_COMMON_DIR path which is C:\ProgramData to the new location.
    1. E.g To point the DS_COMMON_DIR to D:\DSCOMMONDIR\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services, copy the entire SAP BusinessObjects from C:\ProgramData to D:\DSCOMMONDIR
  4. Edit the DS_COMMON_DIR system variable to point to correct location.
  5. E.g. D:\DSCOMMONDIR\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services
  6. Change the location of your pcache, which is moved when you follow the steps above.
  7. Change the location of your jobserver logs, also moved as a result of the same steps.
  8. Restart the EIM APS Service.
  9. Start SAP Data Services from Windows Services.

This is from our server:

Update pCache as required.

Let me know if it helps.

Manish,

In the DSConfig.txt set the AL_JobServerLogReDir1 to complete path without the sub folder name and AL_JobServerLogDirectory1 to just the name of sub folder

AL_JobServerLogReDir1=D:\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services

AL_JobServerLogDirectory1=log

Hi Arun

I have tried that and it does not work for me. Any other suggestions?
