Production orders and material assignment - Master Recipe

Dear all,

Would someone kindly share their experiences and background concerning the following:

We have made a change to an existing product BOM (btw - we have no change management...the BOM's are forever setting at an open state)

further, while we have made corrections to this BOM, and then deleted the existing material assignment, and created a "new" material assignment, while all of this is going on a "new" process order has been entered, and subsequently a "new" production order against this process order has been generated....the problem is, the new production order is now released, and it is referring to the old material assignment and BOM....is there a way to modify the production, which is in release (I am told you can re-read master data if the production order is "not" released) none the less, I need the production order to realize the new material assignment and relative BOM - is there anything that can be done after the production order is released in order to get the updated changes via master recipe and BOM modifications ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Walt

You can re-explode a BOM of a released order, as long as there are no goods movements or confirmations posted for this order.

If movements or confirmations were already posted for the order, you will have to adjust the order components manually.
