BI and ECC sybase versions are different

Hi All,

We have BI 7.4 on Sybase 16.00.01.01 and ECC on Sybase 16.00.00.01.

Do we face any issue during data extraction?

Is it better to keep both the DATABASES on the same version?

Hi Karthik,

Generally speaking minor version difference should not be an issue, but in your case, BI 7.4 is running on a fairly newer release whereas ECC is running on an older and discontinued ASE release. If you are encountering any shorts of issues during normal processing or during data extraction than it is because of ASE version on ECC. You will need to update it to a more recent SAP ASE 16.00.01.02 release. Please refer to 1590719 - Updates for SAP Sybase ASE.
