Hi SF N,

Please have a look at the OSS note 1079992 - Required characteristic values while saving a DIR

Quoting its 'Symptom' description:

With the notes 906097 and 1000800 system does not allow to save a DIR unless the characteristic values that are marked as required are entered.

The correct behaviour is that from Document Management System while saving a DIR, users will be prompted to enter the mandatory class values. When the user does not enter the class values and cancels the same, then the status of the class will be changed allowing the user to save the DIR.

I believe it should not be advisable to turn the info message into an error.
